Zymeworks is looking for an experienced Senior Program Manager for our Early-Stage Clinical Development team, who is an industry-experienced professional with biologics experience, big-picture vision, ability to anticipate & facilitate cross-functional activities & decisions, ability to apply procedural solutions to research operations, attention to detail, and a drive for success. This position will report to the VP, Clinical Development Operations. 

Work Requirement

This role can be based out of any of our Redwood City CA, Vancouver BC, or Bellevue WA offices and is hybrid with a minimum of 3 days per week onsite. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Project management support for the clinical programs in early stage development and to work with the project leader to track tasks and ensure they are completed on time and to budget.
  • Develop and implement new matrixed Product Development Team framework with input from cross functional partners (Clinical, Preclinical, CMC, Commercial)
  • Manage the project-planning process, track project timelines, drive execution
  • In collaboration with the team lead, manage 1-3 Product Development Team meetings for the different programs.
  • Work across different functional areas to ensure that Clinical Development can maintain it’s timelines and budget including but not limited to pre-clinical groups, CMC and finance groups within Zyemworks.
  • Identify issues & analyze risks, plan contingencies to assist the clinical project leader and Clinical Product Development Team.
  • Work with the Zymeworks clinical team to ensure that study timelines and budget are met. 
  • Communicate & coordinate with internal & external stakeholders as necessary.
  • Prepare and manage the overall clinical & product development plans for each clinical program with associated timelines and budgetary information.
  • Liaise with pre-clinical project teams and Clinical Development teams to identify gaps and accelerate pre-clinical programs to Phase I/II trials.  
  • Oversee program budgets and maintain forecasts of Annual operating expenditures and departmental expenses. 
     

Qualifications and Experience

  • BSc in a biological science
  • Minimum Five (5+) years of project-management experience in the bioscience industry for Senior Program Manager
  • PMP certification a plus
  • A combination of education and experience may be considered
  • Experience in multiple external partnerships and proven ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects
  • Broad knowledge of early-stage development of new biologics
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, demonstrated ability to work in a highly collaborative environment and ability to achieve results through other managers and people
  • Strong written and oral communication and presentation skills

The US base salary range for this full time position is $139,000 - $213,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location.
