Associate Director, IT Business Partner G&A

Work Requirement

This role will be based out of our Vancouver office and is hybrid with a minimum of 3 days per week onsite. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop/revise and deliver an IT Strategy and Roadmap to anticipate and meet business needs within the G&A functions.
  • Manage team performance (including outsourced vendors).
  • Manage Customer Satisfaction.
  • Manage cost center (oversee budget and financials).
  • Perform Business Partner role and responsibilities for G&A group.

 

Detailed Responsibilities

  • Collaborate closely with IT leadership and the G&A business community to provide application portfolio leadership for HR, Legal, Finance, Business Development, Investor Relations and Corporate Communications.
  • Ensure IT services and support meets the specific needs and expectations of partners and customers, and that they are delivered in a way that drives the greatest possible value and impact.
  • Develop application business requirements and systems goals in collaboration with the business community and IT application specialists.
  • Oversee the software development life cycle (SDLC) including process definition and reengineering, high and detailed-level requirements gathering, fit/gap analysis, functional design, testing, training, reporting, support, and continuous improvement of business applications.
  • Plan and communicate application upgrades, maintenance fixes, and vendor-initiated patches.
  • Demonstrate strong communication and collaboration skills and building and maintaining strong relationships with partners at all levels of the organization.
  • Manage contract IT service delivery organizations and SaaS vendors to ensure IT service is delivered as per service level agreements (SLAs)
  • Lead by example and modeling desired behaviors, such as transparency, accountability, and a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Ability to be proactive and forward-thinking regarding changes in the external environment and organizational needs to ensure that the business can adapt and thrive in a rapidly changing landscape.
  • Champion a culture of shared ownership and constant organizational evolution.
  • Advocate as a champion of change for the organization’s strategic plans.
  • Collaborate as an IT team member to actively mature the IT discipline.
     

Education and Experience

  • 15+ years of IT experience, majority of which should be in Pharma.
  • Mix of in-house and consulting leadership experience.
  • BS or BA in science and/or computer-related discipline.
  • Hands on experience in a business analyst or similar role.
  • Hands on experience delivering IT solutions built on the SAP application suite.

 

 

Skills and Abilities:

  • Proven track record as an IT business partner and leader with a collaborative leadership style.
  • Pharma and SAP background (must have deep understanding of Accounting, Finance, Procurement and HR environments for a similarly sized - $2B company).
  • Proven track record delivering SuccessFactors HR functionality and integrations.
  • Experience with strategic planning, project management, and process transformation.
  • Demonstrated ability to run large, disruptive projects within a rapidly growing business environment.
  • Experience managing outsourced operations.
  • Innovative, analytical, and creative in problem solving and implementing solutions.
  • Ability to work highly effectively at all levels and with diverse stakeholders, internally and externally.

The Canadian base salary range for this full time position is $124,000 - $190,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. 


The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all Canadian locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by a variety of factors and the salary offered may vary depending on the successful candidate’s location and qualifications (including, but not limited to, job-related knowledge, education, training, skills, and experience).
